Centre of Perinatal Excellence (COPE) was founded by Dr. Nicole Highet to address the emotional and mental health challenges that many women face on their journey to parenthood. For too long, struggles with infertility, pregnancy loss, birth trauma, breastfeeding, sleep-deprivation and the loneliness of new motherhood have gone unspoken, leaving many women feeling pressure to meet unrealistic expectations of being the “perfect mother” and suffering in silence. Research by COPE found that 74% of women struggling during pregnancy or after having their baby did not seek help until they reached crisis point, often because there were ashamed and worried about being judged by others. COPE provides high-quality, evidence-based information, reassuring women that they are not alone, not at fault, and guiding them to the support they need—when they need it most.Making Moments Magical
