Digital Gift Cards - Terms of Sale Australia (24.04.2024)

Our Digital Gift Card Terms of Sale apply when you purchase Digital Gift Cards from Moonpig.com Limited, ABN 95 307 310 812,  (Moonpig, we, us, our) that can be redeemed for goods and/or services provided by a third-party other than Moonpig (each a Brand).

The terms and conditions of the Digital Gift Cards, including any usage restrictions and expiration dates, are specific to the individual third-party digital gift card retailers.  A summary of the terms and conditions governing a specific Digital Gift Card and a link to the full terms and conditions can be found on the Digital Gift Card product details page on Moonpig.com.

Each time you send a Digital Gift Card and the Digital Gift Card has been received and activated by you or your recipient, Moonpig no longer accepts liability or responsibility for this Digital Gift Card. You are liable for all transactions on the Digital Gift Card and Moonpig accepts no liability or responsibility in respect of any unauthorised transactions made using a valid Digital Gift Card. 

If you have entered the wrong mailing or email address and the Digital Gift Card has already been activated, we are unable to assist with this request. Digital Gift Cards that have been issued to the wrong recipient, through no fault of Moonpig, will not be replaced or refunded. A Digital Gift Card is not redeemable for cash, credit or retailer accounts except as provided by the relevant Brand’s terms and conditions.

Digital Gift Cards must be redeemed before the expiry date and cannot be reloaded beyond the initial value on the Digital Gift Card. Digital Gift Cards with an unused balance on expiry will not be refunded or credited. 

Delivery and Activation

Digital Gift Cards will be delivered to its recipient via email or by postal mail on your chosen delivery date in accordance with Moonpig.com Limited Consumer Terms & Conditions (AU).  Before a Digital Gift Card can be used, it must be activated.  The greetings card or eCard will contain Digital Gift Card activation instructions.  Digital Gift Cards must be activated within twelve (12) months of purchase.  If a Digital Gift Card is not activated within twelve (12) months, the activation link (but not the underlying Digital Gift Card) will expire, and a new activation link must be requested by contacting Moonpig customer services via https://support-aus.moonpig.com/hc/en-gb. 

Refunds

We’re happy to make refunds on unused Digital Gift Cards bought directly from Moonpig within 30 days of purchase. All refunds will be made to the person who purchased the Digital Gift Card and they will be refunded directly via the original method of payment.

Should this not be possible for any reason, the refund shall be issued by bank transfer or cheque. All refunds are processed at month-end and take between 5 and 10 working days to show in the purchaser’s account. To request a refund, please contact us here and our team will get back to you within 5 working days.

Once you or the recipient have redeemed it for products or services with the Brand, you are bound by the relevant Brand’s Terms and Conditions. Please make yourself aware of these at the time of purchase and redemption.

Brand(s) & Liability

Moonpig has sought highly reputable Brands; however, Moonpig cannot be responsible for the quality or delivery of the product or services by the Brand, or any loss or damage suffered by you for which the Brand shall be solely responsible. By purchasing a Digital Gift Card and using the Digital Gift Card with a Brand, you acknowledge that the experience in respect of which the Digital Gift Card will be redeemed is dependent on certain factors beyond the control of Moonpig. 

Moonpig’s goods and services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. The total aggregate liability of Moonpig for any claim (whether for breach of contract, negligence or on any other basis) in connection with the Digital Gift Card is limited to the price paid by you for Digital Gift Card. 

Apart from the guarantees provided under the Australian Consumer Law, the only conditions, guarantees and warranties which are binding on Moonpig in respect of the state, quality or condition of the goods and the services are those imposed by statute which cannot be excluded. 

We have tried to ensure that the descriptions and images used on all marketing material of the Brands are accurate.  However, descriptions are intended to give a general idea of how the Digital Gift Card can be used and do not form part of any contract between the purchaser and / or the recipient of the Digital Gift Card and Moonpig.

Complaints?

We have no obligation to resolve any dispute between you and any other recipient or Brand.

The easiest way to resolve any problems that you may experience is to speak to the Brand. They will ensure that any issues are rectified. If you are still not satisfied, please contact us online with your name, Digital Gift Card reference and a full written account of your complaint, including any supporting photographs that may help us address the matter with the Brands. Please remember that the Brands will have the opportunity to respond as well. Which terms apply when I purchase a Digital Gift Card via Moonpig Website or App?

Unless otherwise stated, PLEASE NOTE that our Moonpig.com Limited Consumer Terms & Conditions (AU) do not apply to Digital Gift Cards purchased via our Website or App.

Once you have purchased a Digital Gift Card and use it with a third party Brand, you will automatically become bound by the terms and conditions that individual Brands may have.

What is a Digital Gift Card?

A Digital Gift Card has a value that can be used as a form of payment with the relevant Brand for goods and/or services.  

How do I redeem a Digital Gift Card?

If you add a Digital Gift Card to your greetings card or eCard we will add an activation link to the greetings or eCard. Following this link will show you how to activate and redeem your Digital Gift Card with your selected brand.

The Digital Gift Card is non-reloadable and, except where required by law, cannot be redeemed for cash, refunded, or returned. Treat this Digital Gift Card as cash; the issuer is not responsible for lost, damaged or stolen cards, or for unauthorised use.

How do I know if a Digital Gift Card was activated?

You will be given a link to the Digital Gift Card voucher that shows you the amount you have to spend with the Brand, redemption instructions and voucher information such as voucher number and pin.

What should I do if your Digital Gift Card does not work?

If you cannot activate the Digital Gift Card, you can contact the Moonpig customer support team via https://support-aus.moonpig.com/hc/en-gb.

If you have already activated your Digital Gift Card but are having problems redeeming it with the Brand, you will need to contact the Brand’s customer support team. These details will be provided with your activated voucher.

Does my Digital Gift Card expire?

You or your recipient will have 12 months from purchase to activate the Digital Gift Card, once activated the expiration date is dependent on the Brand’s specific gift card terms and conditions, please review this at the time of purchase. Can my Digital Gift Card get blocked or cancelled?

Yes, if we suspect your Digital Gift Card is at risk of loss, theft or fraudulent activity we may cancel the Digital Gift Card so it is no longer redeemable.

Can I use discounts when purchasing a Digital Gift Card?

No, discounts or discount codes cannot be used when purchasing a Digital Gift Card.

Can I use Moonpig account credits when purchasing a Digital Gift Card?

No, account credits cannot be used when purchasing a Digital Gift Card.

How will my Digital Gift Card be Delivered?

Your Digital Gift Card will be delivered to your chosen recipient within an eCard to the email address you enter at checkout.
