We're Getting Into The Christmas Spirit with Our #MerrierTogether Event
‘Tis (nearly) the season to be jolly, and we’re certainly no Scrooges here at Moonpig – we start thinking about next Christmas while our third round of Christmas pud is still going down. Christmas is a time for celebrating family, friends, and loved ones and we think life is merrier when spent together, whether that be in person or in spirit.
Showing someone you care goes a long way, and helping people do that is our passion here at Moonpig – whether it's with a personalised Christmas card, a custom Santa mug, or an unexpected festive surprise. We wanted to share our #MerrierTogether spirit, so hosted a get together to do just that.
We invited a handful of talented bloggers to our #MerrierTogether event to celebrate Christmas, to show a bit more about what we do, and to take part in some crafty activities. We took to a suitably festive room nestled away in the heart of Leeds and, after a short welcome, got down to some cracking Christmas crafts and cocktails, of course.
Our bloggers split into groups and took to one of four activities. The first group set about learning the ins and outs of wreath making with the talented Helen James. Armed with a selection of floristry bits and bobs and a handy straw wreath blank, our guests wrapped, wound and pinned away until a wonderful wintery wreath lay before them.
The second table was dedicated to using our very own Moonpig website to create a custom Christmas card – all with the help of Nigel Stott. Each person would go in the photobooth, grab some props, and snap away. Once the photos had been added to our card creator, our guests could easily make a beautiful card ready to send out in plenty of time for Christmas.
Our third table was a little lesson in making delicious drinks. Our expert bartender demonstrated how to make two easy and devilishly tasty cocktails and mocktails, and then turned the tables on our bloggers to have a go themselves.
Our fourth table was literally a bag of fun – Christmas sack customisation with Sandra Togher. Each of our bloggers received a lovely blank Christmas sack and a variety of stencils, templates, and fabric pens to create their very own custom present bag for the big day. Some designed it with a friend in mind, others with a loved one – one even designed a bag for her beloved cat.
Once each group had finished with a particular craft, it was all change and on to the next table, with a quick pit stop for nibbles in between. Once all the crafts were complete, it was time for a little natter and a visit from our extra special guest – Mr. Claus himself.
We pulled a few strings and managed to get the big guy to find a gap in his busy schedule to say hello to our guests and hear what they wanted for Christmas. He was even kind enough to bring a little early Christmas present on our behalf with a Moonpig tote bag, packed with:
We had so much fun hosting the event and would like to thank each and every one of our lovely guests for sharing the day with us. Here’s to a Merry Christmas!
